These terms govern your use of the Gumiho iOS application (the "App") and the gumiho.app website. By downloading or using the App you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The service

Gumiho is a Korean reading and vocabulary app. It provides Korean books, a tap-to-look-up dictionary, vocabulary review cards, word games and progress tracking. We may change, extend or discontinue the scope, content and features of the service without prior notice.

2. Account

The App can be used without an account. When you create one, your progress and word list sync across your devices. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. You can permanently delete your account at any time inside the App (Profile → Account → Delete account).

3. Free use, gold and Premium

The App's core features are free. Pages of some books are unlocked with an in-app unit called "gold" or by watching an optional ad. Gold can be earned through reading, games, daily tasks and voluntary ads, or obtained through in-app purchase. Gold has no monetary value outside the App, cannot be transferred and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Gumiho Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed weekly, monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refund requests are subject to Apple's policies and are handled by Apple.

4. Content and intellectual property

The books in the App are public-domain texts or texts used under licence; every book shows its source. Dictionary definitions come from KRDict by the National Institute of Korean Language under the CC BY-SA 2.0 KR licence. The App's design, characters (Gumiho, Dokkaebi and others), artwork, software and brand belong to Gumiho and may not be copied, distributed or used commercially without permission.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the App unlawfully, in a way that infringes others' rights, or in a way that disrupts the service (reverse engineering, automated access, circumventing security measures and the like). Comments and reports submitted inside the App may not contain abuse, hate speech or spam.

6. Limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the App. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have as a consumer under applicable law.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be announced inside the App or on this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. Privacy

How we process your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which should be read together with these terms.

9. Relationship with Apple

The App is distributed through the App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms; support for and responsibility over the App rest with Gumiho. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to all purchases made through the App Store.
